Trausch Fine Arts

Welcome to my website!  I am currently updating many of my new illustrations and paintings but I invite you to browse through my present as well as my past work.  The majority of my pieces are inspired by nature and specifically animals.  By using the term "animals", I include not only mammals with their fun fur, whiskers and markings but also reptiles, birds, insects and sea life. All with their own interesting skin, scales or feathers.  Many of my themes are the result of travel sometimes just to the Forest Preserves around Chicago and sometimes I am lucky enough to travel to The Virgin Islands or overseas.  I believe when you really look at my pieces, you will see some familiar spots.

Currently I am working on two children's picture books.  One features a young girl who meets two wonderful new friends, a tiny iguana and a very large green sea turtle.  The second is about a very RED and VERY glowing young boxelder bug that discovers that sometimes the things thrown at us in life, turn out to make us the strongest (even when facing some bullies at school).  Although painting, drawing and illustration will continue to be my MEDIUMS, I enjoy thinking of new adventures to use in my books.
